Welcome to the British Hanoverian Horse Society (BHHS).
The BHHS is a full daughter society of the Verband hannoverscher Warmblutzüchter (Hanoverian Warmblood Breeders’ Association) in Germany. The impressive record of Hanoverian horses internationally underlines the importance of the relationship between a sound breeding programme and the highest level of achievement in sport.
The British Hanoverian Horse Society holds a number of events throughout the year. In addition to the main annual show there are also a number of regional foal shows where foals can be branded and shown. Mares can also be graded at these events. Depending on demand, there may be one or more Mare Performance Tests held in addition to the one at the annual show.

There can be no question that the Hanoverian Horse represents today one of the most prominent breeds of riding horses in the world.
A Hanoverian is a warmblood horse originating in Germany, which is often seen in the Olympic Games and other competitive English riding styles, and have won gold medals in all three equestrian Olympic competitions. It is one of the oldest, most numerous, and most successful of the warmbloods. Originally a carriage horse, infusions of Thoroughbred blood lightened it to make it more agile and useful for competition. The Hanoverian is known for a good temperament, athleticism, beauty, and grace.

Carl Hester's former international small tour champion T.Movistar is standing at The Dressage Company, owned by Mark and Elizabeth Mills based near Diss, Norfolk. The stunning KWPN bred stallion is a major asset to the British dressage horse breeding scene with his proven show record and offspring.
The British Hanoverian Horse Society is very pleased to announce that the Hanoverian Stallion, Benvenuto, is now standing in the UK at Champion Park Stud in Leicestershire.
The Stallion, which is now licensed British Hanoverian, was bred in Germany by Christian Heinrich.
This magnificent 16.3hh chestnut Stallion has fantastic temperament but he also has the top quality bloodline to go with it.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the loss of Witcham House Farm Stud's beautiful Black Stallion, Elroon
Elroon was born in 2001 and Licensed by the Hanoverian Verband in 2003. He was imported him from Germany in January 2004. Elroon then returned in the Autumn of 2004 to pass his performance test at Adelheidsdorf with high marks for temperament, character and rideability. Already attracting huge interest and adoration. His first foals were very striking with presence and movement.
Franz Ferdinand (Fuerst Heinrich x Dimaggio x Caprimond), that is the distinctive name of the new rising star of Woodlander's partner, Hengststation Pape. He has an exceptional genetic, which can hardly not be more modern and contemporary, and at the same time certain in terms of performance. It is well known as outstanding and is unique.
His father Furst Heinrich was World Champion, his dam-sire Dimaggio was also World Champion. His full sister is the exceptional mare Woodlander Farouche who was double World Champion.
The British Hanoverian Horse Society (BHHS) is pleased to announce that their Annual General Meeting will be held at Horwood House, Mursley Rd, Little Horwood, Milton Keynes MK17 0PH on Saturday 25 March 2017 at 1pm.
The Agenda will include the presentation of the annual report and accounts for approval, election of committee members as necessary and any other business suitable for an AGM. The full Agenda will be published on the website in due course.
British Hanoverians collected a total of five awards at the British Breeders Award Ceremony held at the Grange City Hotel in London on Saturday 14 January 2017.
The first to receive an award was Woodlander Stud’s Sugar Pie (Supertramp x Florencio I) who was presented with the Dressage 3 Year Old Award. Sugar Pie was bred by Lynne Crowden of Woodlander Stud and is owned by Debbie Green. Sugar Pie was the British Hanoverian Horse Society’s (BHHS) Best 2 Year Old Filly in 2015 and Reserve Youngstock Champion in 2016.
