Hanoverian Approval for Franz Ferdinand

Franz Ferdinand (Fuerst Heinrich x Dimaggio x Caprimond), that is the distinctive name of the new rising star of Woodlander's partner, Hengststation Pape. He has an exceptional genetic, which can hardly not be more modern and contemporary, and at the same time certain in terms of performance. It is well known as outstanding and is unique.

His father Furst Heinrich was World Champion, his dam-sire Dimaggio was also World Champion. His full sister is the exceptional mare Woodlander Farouche who was double World Champion.

AGM Notice

The British Hanoverian Horse Society (BHHS) is pleased to announce that their Annual General Meeting will be held at Horwood House, Mursley Rd, Little Horwood, Milton Keynes MK17 0PH on Saturday 25 March 2017 at 1pm.

The Agenda will include the presentation of the annual report and accounts for approval, election of committee members as necessary and any other business suitable for an AGM. The full Agenda will be published on the website in due course.

British Hanoverians Once Again Lead the Way at the British Breeders Awards in London

British Hanoverians collected a total of five awards at the British Breeders Award Ceremony held at the Grange City Hotel in London on Saturday 14 January 2017.

The first to receive an award was Woodlander Stud’s Sugar Pie (Supertramp x Florencio I) who was presented with the Dressage 3 Year Old Award.  Sugar Pie was bred by Lynne Crowden of Woodlander Stud and is owned by Debbie Green.  Sugar Pie was the British Hanoverian Horse Society’s (BHHS) Best 2 Year Old Filly in 2015 and Reserve Youngstock Champion in 2016.

A champion all the way from the day he was born, Woodlander Wild Child holds the record high score for the Futurity as a foal and in the same year became the WBS - UK Supreme Champion. In 2013, he was again the top dressage two year old and then gained a stallion licensing "double" with both the Hannoverian International and the WBS - UK.

British Hanoverian Horse Society Annual Show 2016

The busy summer show season for the British Hanoverian Horse Society (BHHS) was concluded on the last week of September with the 2016 Annual Show at Keysoe.

The BHHS Committee was joined by the Mr Jürgen Rump and Mr Harmut Wilking from the Hannoveraner Verband for what was a very successful showpiece event. San Floriana (San Amour I x Florestan), bred and owned by Hawtins Stud, was named as this year’s Supreme Champion.

Rising British Hanoverian Star heads to Rio

British Bred Hanoverian Dimitri (otherwise known as Super Nova II) and International Dressage Rider, Spencer Wilton, have been selected by the Dressage Team to represent Great Britain at the Olympics in Rio.

Owned by Jen Goodman, with rider Spencer Wilton owning a share, the thirteen year old gelding by De Niro out of the State Premium Mare Walpurgiss was bred by Mrs Eve Kirby.
