Stallion Licensing 2017

The British Hanoverian Horse Society Stallion Licencing was held at Home Farm Hothorpe on Saturday 30 September 2017, where four 4 very different stallions presented in front of the judges.

Our Champion Stallion was the two year old Wild Love (Wild Child/For Compliment) bred and owned by Lynne Crowden of Woodlander Stud.  Lynne has also bred the father, grandfather, mother and two grandmothers, so a product of a very successful breeding program.

The other two year old was Fascinize (For Romance/Don Frederico).  Fascinize was presented by Darren Mattia and Mark Forrest of Court Farm Stud and was bred by Heirich Behrmann and owned by Rory Carol. He had previously been the British Hanoverian foal champion, and impressed the judges with his movement and athleticism.   He also jumped very well, with a very supple back.

The ten year old Don Dante (Dancier/Salvano) is a successful PSG stallion having won at Premier league, and recently placed at the nationals. Bred by the Carriden Stud and owned by Wendy Smith. He was presented under saddle and showed ability to collect and extend with a calm temperament.

The judging commission was Ludwig Christmann, Hans Henning von der Decken, Katy Holder-Vale and Nicole Nelson, who very much in accord and enjoyed seeing the potential from some very interesting blood lines.
