Dave Crowden – 1946-2021

We are deeply saddened to hear the news that Dave Crowden has passed away. Our sincere condolences go to Lynne, her family and friends.

Dave was a dear friend and member of the British Hanoverian Horse Society for many years and will be deeply missed by us all.

Chairman of the BHHS, Katy Holder-Vale said “Dave was a big supporter of the BHHS over many years often happily doing the commentary on many of our shows and with a great understanding of the German bloodlines His music was always appropriate and complimentary to the horses. A truly charming guy who will be sadly missed”.

Lynne supported by her husband Dave, established the Woodlander Stud and made it one of the most important centres for dressage horse breeding in the UK. For nearly thirty years they have used Hanoverian mares to breed top competition horse and have bred more than 400 foals using their best mare lines. Among the horses they have bred are the double world young horse champion Woodlander Farouche, and the champion stallions Woodlander Wavavoom, Woodlander Wild Child and Woodlander Wild Love.
