Change of Ownership
Congratulations on the purchase of your new horse. It is a requirement under the Horse Passport (England) Regulations to register a change of ownership with the relevant Passport Issuing Organisation (PIO) when acquiring a horse. For more details … click here >>
British Hanoverian & British Rhineland

With about 19,000 registered broodmares and 450 stallions, we take a leading position in the breeding of horses worldwide, influences many other warmblood breeds considerably, and is recognized as one of the foundation breeds of the modern sport horse.
The British Rhinel
and Studbook is managed as a separate and distinct studbook by the British Hanoverian Horse Society (BHHS). The BHHS has adopted and implemented the breeding rules for its Rhineland Studbook similar to those in place for the Rhineland Studbook in Germany. Read more >>
Studbook Inspection
In order for a foal to receive full papers, the dam must be accepted into one of the Studbook Divisions, a mare must meet certain criteria as regards her pedigree, her conformation, and her basic gaits. Three-year-old and older mares can be presented for studbook inspection. Click here to read more
Mare Performance Test
On completing the Studbook Inspection the mare can be presented for Performance Testing which is very important for the Hanoverian Breeding programme. This offers information about the suitability of a mare as a sport horse, but also hold valuable information about the quality of inheritable traits of the dam’s sire. Click here to read more
